Trainee Listing Agent – Grenada & Fort Lauderdale

Virgin Islands Yacht Broker (VIYB) is expanding! We’re looking for motivated, technically skilled individuals to join our team as Trainee Listing Agents in Grenada and Fort Lauderdale. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the international yacht sales market and build a career with one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic brokerages.

What You’ll Do:

• Prospect and secure new boat listings in your region through outreach, networking, and relationship building.

• Meet with boat owners, explain the VIYB listing process, and introduce them to our licensed listing brokers.

• Collect detailed listing data, including inventory descriptions, technical specifications, and key selling points.

• Photo and document each vessel to a professional standard, ensuring listings are accurate, detailed, and market-ready.

• Support the listing broker in preparing the listing for the market, including uploading to VIYB’s digital platforms.

• Receive full training in yacht brokerage with the potential to advance to a fully licensed broker role.

Who We’re Looking For The Yacht Broker Position

• Someone with strong technical knowledge of boat systems (sailing or power) – ideally with experience in marine service, delivery, charter, or sales.

• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and communicate confidently with boat owners.

• Must be fluent in English, detail-oriented, and able to create professional, clean listings.

• Applicants must have access to a computer and either a high-quality camera or smartphone capable of taking clear, professional photos.

• Comfortable using Google Drive, email, and basic digital tools (training on our systems provided).

• Based in or around Grenada or Fort Lauderdale, with access to marinas and local boating communities.

Compensation:

This is a commission-only opportunity. You’ll be compensated based on successful listings and eventual sales. This is an excellent entry point into the yacht brokerage world with high potential earning opportunities for self-motivated individuals.

We are excited to announce a new addition to the team, Andrew Rutledge will be expanding our Caribbean cruising yacht division.

Andrew has been a full time liveaboard cruiser for the last four years sailing on a Hanse 445 monohull and now a Nautitech 46 open catamaran in the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Growing up racing Coronado 15’s with his dad up and down the Pacific Northwest sailing has been a passion since his teen years. After selling his business in 2018 the time to follow a lifelong dream of evading Canadian winters and full time sailing presented itself. Deciding to sell everything to pursue this dream was a big leap of faith so his goal is to help other cruisers buy, sell or upgrade to the yacht of their dreams and live this lifestyle. With his previous experience as a commercial pilot, retail sales, and now being a full time cruiser, the transition to yacht broker brings a lot of his skills together to help other Caribbean Cruisers.
